{"name":"AI x Klimt x Adele x Dreams","description":"AI x Klimt x Adele x Dreams\nby Hulki Okan Tabak\nminted on Async Art\n\n24 pieces 24 hours \n\n...\n\nThis work is based on Gustav Klimt's first portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer (1907). The piece has been sold by Christie's in a private for USD 135 million in 2006. The piece is in public domain. \n\nI have walked through various stages of re-imagination on the original piece. I have first applied a general conversion which was subsequently mixed with various genes from randomly selected digital works. I selectively defined starting points and increments that I followed for the next 23 images in journeying with Adele through genders and worlds. The process was awesome, fun and immersive. The end result is strange, post-modern and anything but plain beautiful. It speaks to my mind partly as a visual provocation but even more so as a vessel to convey how close sit different states and sides of life.\n\n...\n\nPortrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I (also called The Lady in Gold or The Woman in Gold) is a painting by Gustav Klimt, completed between 1903 and 1907. The portrait was commissioned by the sitter's husband, Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer, a Jewish banker and sugar producer. The painting was stolen by the Nazis in 1941 and displayed at the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere. The portrait is the final and most fully representative work of Klimt's golden phase. It was the first of two depictions of Adele by Klimt—the second was completed in 1912; these were two of several works by the artist that the family owned.
